Sarga 43

In Sarga 41 we noted that after finding Sita, the story took a turn from search for Sita. Hanuman is no longer required to make his presence discreet. Hanuman a with view to attract attention of Ravana destroyed his pleasure garden which is otherwise known as Ashoka Van. Then he vanquished the Kinkaras that were sent to capture him . In Sarga 42, Hanuma announced himself in no uncertain terms that he is the servant of King of Kosala, he was there to see Sita. The renewed vigor continues in Sarga 43 with destruction of Chaitya temple

Now we go forward with Slokas of Sarga forty-three

||Sloka 43.01||

తతః స కింకరాన్ హత్వా హనుమాధ్యానమాస్థితః|
వనం భగ్నం మయా చైత్యప్రాసాదో న వినాశితః ||43.01||

స|| తతః కింకరాన్ హత్వా హనుమాన్ ధ్యానం అస్థితః | మయా వనం భగ్నం (కృతా)|చైత్య ప్రాసాదః న వినాశితః||

Govindaraja says - చైత్యేతి || చైత్యం దేవాయతనం తద్రూపం ప్రాసాదః చైత్యప్రాసదః||

తతః కింకరాన్ హత్వా -
having killed the Kinkaras
హనుమాన్ ధ్యానం అస్థితః -
Hanuman stood and reflected
మయా వనం భగ్నం (కృతా)-
I have destroyed the grove
చైత్య ప్రాసాదః న వినాశితః -
Chaitya palace is not destroyed

"Then having killed the Kinkaras, Hanuman stood and reflected. 'I have destroyed the grove. The Chaitya palace is not destroyed'."||43.01||

he looked like another rising Sun.

so will be very powerful Lakshmana.

Sugriva ruled by Rama too will be victorious

దహ్యమానం తతో దృష్ట్వా ప్రాసాదం హరియూథపః|
స రాక్షసశతం హత్వా వజ్రేణేంద్ర ఇవాసురాన్||43.19||
అంతరిక్షే స్థితః శ్రీమాన్ ఇదం వచనమబ్రవీత్|

మాదృశానాం సహస్రాణి విసృష్టాని మహాత్మనామ్||43.20||
బలినాం వానరేంద్రాణాం సుగ్రీవవశవర్తినామ్|
అటంతి వసుధాం కృత్స్నాం వయమన్యే చ వానరాః||43.21||

స||మహాత్మనాం బలినాం సుగ్రీవవశవర్తినాం మాదృశానాం వానరేంద్రాణాం సహస్రాణి విశ్రుష్టాని వయం అన్యే కృత్స్నాం వసుధామ్ అటంతి||

Govindaraja Tika says - రాక్షసానాం ఉత్సాహ భఙ్గం కారయితుం ఆహ మాదృశానామ్ ఇత్యాది

Tilaka Tika says- ఏతదుక్తి ప్రయోజనం చ రాక్ష హృదయ పీడా ।

దశనాగబలాః కేచిత్ కేచిత్ దశగుణోత్తరాః|
కేచిన్నాగసహస్రస్య బభూవుః తుల్యవిక్రమాః||43.22||

కేచిత్ దశనాగబలాః -
some have ten elephants'
కేచిత్ దశగుణోత్తరాః -
some have ten times more
కేచిత్ నాగసహస్రస్య -
some others have thousand elephants

of equal strength are there

"Some have strength of ten elephants, some have ten times more strength, some others have thousand elephants. " Strength." ||43.22||

సంతి చౌఘబలాః కేచిత్ కేచిద్వాయుబలోపమాః|
అప్రమేయ బలాశ్చాన్యే తత్రాసన్ హరియూధపాః||43.23||

స|| కేచిత్ చౌఘబలాః సన్తి కేచిత్ వాయుబలోపమాః తత్ర అన్యే హరియూథపాః అప్రమేయ బలాశ్చ ఆసన్ ||

have immeasurable strength

ఈదృగ్విధైస్తు హరిభిర్వృతో దంతానఖాయుధైః|
శతైః శతసహస్రైశ్చ కోటీభిరయుతైరపి||43.24||
ఆగమిష్యతి సుగ్రీవః సర్వేషాం వో నిషూదనః|

స||ఈదృగ్విధైః దన్త అపితు నఖాయుధైః శతైః అయుతైః శతసహస్రైః కోటిభిః హరిభిః వృతః సుగ్రీవః సర్వేషాం నిషూదనః ఆగమిష్యతి ||

ఈదృగ్విధైః దన్త అపితు నఖాయుధైః -
warriors who use their teeth and nails as weapons,
శతైః అయుతైః - hundreds and thousands
శతసహస్రైః కోటిభిః హరిభిః వృతః -
surrounded by such lakhs and crores of Vanaras
సుగ్రీవః సర్వేషాం నిషూదనః ఆగమిష్యతి -
Sugriva who can finish off every one is coming here

"Surrounded with such warriors in their hundred thousand and tens of thousands, who use their teeth and nails as weapons, Sugriva the killer of all of you is coming".||43.24||

నేయమస్తి పురీ లంకా న యూయం న చ రావణః|
యస్మాదిక్ష్వాకు నాథేన బద్ధం వైరం మహాత్మనా ||43.25||

స|| యస్మాత్ మహాత్మనా ఇక్ష్వాకునాథేన వైరం బద్ధం ఇయం లంకాపురీ నాస్తి |యూయం న| రావణః చ న||

మహాత్మనా ఇక్ష్వాకునాథేన -
with the great soul and lord of Ikshavakus
యస్మాత్ వైరం బద్ధం
because of having been bound with enmity of
ఇయం లంకాపురీ నాస్తి - this city of Lanka will be no more
యూయం న - you will be no more
రావణః చ న - Ravana too will be no more

"Because of having been bound with enmity of the lord of Ikshavakus, this city of Lanka will be no more. You will be no more. Ravana too will be no more". ||43.25||

The loud pronouncements of Hanuma are essentially to strike fear into the minds of Rakshasas, and put a seed doubt in the mind of the Rakshasas.

With these victory chants the Sarga 43 comes to an end

ఇత్యార్షే శ్రీమద్రామాయణే ఆదికావ్యే వాల్మీకీయే
చతుర్వింశత్ సహస్రికాయాం సంహితాయామ్
శ్రీమత్సుందరకాండే త్రిచత్వారింశస్సర్గః ||

Thus ends Sarga forty-three of Sundarakanda in Ramayana the very first poem composed in Sanskrit by the first poet sage Valmiki.
